CDS Superstores is bringing the marketplace platform behind The Range to Wilko. The group is investing in Wilko’s online marketplace and digital infrastructure in partnership with Mirakl, as reported by Retail Week.
Wilko has come a long way since it collapsed into administration in 2023. CDS Superstores bought the brand, website and intellectual property for £5 million and had wilko.com trading again that October. Wilko has since opened a marketplace, and CDS Superstores now wants to make it easier for third-party sellers to join it and reach more shoppers.
CDS Superstores has done this once already. In April it moved The Range’s marketplace onto Mirakl, replacing its in-house technology and adding Mirakl Ads so sellers can pay to promote their listings. Mirakl said at the time that the marketplace was already behind nearly half of The Range’s online sales.

The Wilko investment follows a run of deals for CDS Superstores. In August the group secured a £190m credit facility with Wells Fargo Capital Finance, HSBC and Citi, with digital development among the stated uses.
On 27th October it extended its contract with THG Fulfil, which has handled fulfilment and courier management for The Range, Wilko and Homebase since 2024. CDS Superstores is also using Google Cloud AI to improve search and product discovery on wilko.com.
CDS Superstores has yet to say how much it is putting into the Wilko marketplace, when the upgrade will go live, what sellers will pay or which categories it will prioritise.
Wilko is now one of several UK retailers running a marketplace on Mirakl. Argos launched its Mirakl-powered marketplace in August and plans to add another 200,000 products by February 2027. Tesco switched to Mirakl last October and passed 1,000 marketplace sellers earlier this month.
